GLOBAL MEET
Computational Modeling and Simulation: Recent Innovations, Challenges & Perspectives
The world has been fighting an invisible enemy in the form of Covid-19 and the uncertainty
about the future necessitates the need for strengthening our scientific research so as to enable the
society to safeguard its educational system and economy in a planned and strategic manner. Birla
Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, India has embraced this challenge by taking
an initiative to organize an international global meet on ‘Computational
Modeling and Simulation: Recent Innovations, Challenges & Perspectives’ during Oct 16 – Nov 07, 2020.
Computational modelling and simulation have become the promising approach for
studying the behavior of physical and complex engineering, enterprise information, agricultural
and water resources, biological and communication systems before deployment in a real setting.
Mathematical and computational studies are very much interesting in the sense of improving the
understanding of experimental results for which experiments are intractable.
Simulation of large complex dynamic systems can be processed in an efficient manner using
advanced computational analysis. The primary goal of the webinar is to strengthen University’s
preeminence in computational modeling and simulation by catalyzing the transformative use of
innovative developments in a wide range of disciplines to achieve lasting societal impact. This is
one of many steps to build collaboration with academic institutes across the globe by building a
network for academicians and research scientists, allowing them to share their research
contributions to the modelling and simulation driven by computational technology, thereby
nurturing the future generations to become the next generation academic leaders in the field of
emergent computational systems.
OBJECTIVES
- Collaboration: Develop academic, industry, government and community partnerships in mathematical & computational modeling and simulations at global platform
- Developing community: Build a world-class inter-disciplinary computational modeling and simulation community at BITS-Pilani.
- Research exchange: Catalyze, coordinate and share sustainable, multi-disciplinary research among universities through mutual publications, projects
- Promote education: Developing forums to educate the next generation of computational modeling and simulation workforce, research leaders and citizens.
- Accomplishments: To provide a platform where BITS faculty and experts from other universities can share their accomplishments in developing advanced computational techniques
- Translation: Using outcomes of the webinar to support the application of computational modeling into meaningful products, services, and policies, towards a better data-enabled society of tomorrow.
